Hurricane

Food - check (thanks to dad who went out yesterday before we got home - he was trying to eat up all the other food in the fridge) We have enough for Michael and Vanessa - even a few diapers on hand :)
Gas in cars - check
Water - check
Flashlights - check
Lawn mowed - check (done this morning)
Outdoor furniture secure - check
Cash - check (they say to have some in case the electricity goes out and won't have access to $$

I think we're all ready - I don't think that anything will happen here, but better to be prepared just in case.

Is this a sign of the times? I would say so...the storm is larger than the state of Texas and one storm has never hit so much of the east coast. VA - Earthquake and Hurricane all in one week - follow the Prophet and be prepared.

YUM!

Last night we took the family out to...Cafe Rio! It was my first time to experience the real food - I've only had the homemade version - and it was GREAT! Next time I'm getting the Tres Leche Cake :)

Test

This is a test of the Emergency Blog Posting System.  Let’s see if this really works…I email the Blogspot email alias account, it posts to Blogspot and sends another email to BishopFamily@..... that posts to the Google Groups site….   Let’s see if technology is really all that it’s cracked up to be…..

whirlwind and fun

that was the whirlwind of this winter...forgot some of the fun stuff - liz home for Thanksgiving and Christms, Sarah and Nathan here for Nov, really cute colored pictures still adorn our bedroom from Nathan and Miriam, cool pictures of wedding cakes from rachel, Mike and Vanessa moved out (I don't know if that was fun or not - but happy for them) snow days, and wearing shoes!

So much to look forward to also - lacrosse season, Babies, graduation, Elizabeth home babysitting grandkids and seeing everyone!

Updates...updates

So..its been forever since I got on here. I have a few moments at work in between meetings so I'm biting the bullet, as it were....

Let's see...work is hectic, but rewarding, Sandy's foot is sore from therapy but getting better day by day, new iphone coming for Sandy (this weekend maybe???), cold weather lingers (as does the perpetually icey sidewalks), the Packers will DOMINATE on Sunday, Sandy heads to Houston next week, I head to Germany a week from Sunday and Becky heads to Swazey's....hhmmm...that about covers most of the comings and goings of the pared down Bishops of Ashburn.

We've decided that being ruthless landlords and moneygrubbing snobs with Carribean property is a waste of time, effort and money. So, we're dumping the condo in UT and the timeshare in St. Kitts in favor of paying off all of our debt, getting Liz and Becky through college, and getting that blasted sewing machine repaired. Oh, and let's not forget the everpresent and never-ending home renovation projects (Kitchen is 3/4 done).

Other than that...life is spectacularly cool. No outrageous pictures to include this time....Maybe I'll come back and insert some gruesome toe shots from Sandy's surgery last Nov...yeah...that's what I'll do..... :)
